In late 2021, GURCA received a 3 year funding package from the Scottish Government Strengthening Communities fund to employ a Community Development Officer. This fund was targeted at Communities who were growing their capacity but did not have a paid member of staff. Out of over 80 applications, GURCA were 1 of the 21 successful applicants.
Dan Light is has been working as our Community Development Officer. The time though is right for Dan to move on. We are in the process of recruiting a new CDO to build on the work Dan has done and continue to take the Trust forward.

“There is something very special about this place, its been fantastic meeting so many of you out and about in the community and working on various GURCA projects: especially the various Groups, Events and of course the community purchase of Blairbeg Community Woods.
You may well see me out walking locally with our two dogs Darcey and Margo, if so please stop by and say hello. I know you’ll be here as a Community to support the new Development Officer and help them on their exciting new journey. As always there’s lots in the pipeline and I hope more good news stories will be coming to the Glen very soon’
