GLENURQUHART RURAL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

GURCA is looking into the potential for a Community Asset Transfer of the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Drumnadrochit.

This was stimulated by Visit Scotland announcing their intention to quit the site. And a subsequent mandate from the Community to explore this further.

A sub-committee of this has been established and is working on a business plan which will underpin the financial sustainability of this project (For GURCA to take this over it needs to find a viable business proposal which will sustain the costs of running the TIC, toilets and potential car parking.

A Community Asset Transfer request is being made to Highland Council to secure our rights to this facility and prevent Highland Council selling the facility on. GURCA aims to revert back to a full community meeting in early 2019 for approval to take this forward.
