Community Land and Assets: Public Meeting
Glen Urquhart Public Hall
Monday 14th November 7:00pm
Opportunities for community run/owned assets include: the Old Shop Site (Balmacaan Road), Main Village Car Park, Drumnadrochit Post Office and Blairbeg Woods.
Come along to the Hall to find out more, and share your views and ideas.
Glen Urquhart’s Community Action plan states that:
‘The choice for communities to own or manage more assets that improve the delivery of public benefits is well supported by residents in the consultation. The Community Empowerment Act means there are more routes to community and plural ownership than ever before, and our efforts will be focused on the sustainability of asset-based enterprises.
Project 1.1A: Aim to identify viable assets (buildings, land, woodland etc) that add value to community life and that are
a) eligible for capital funding to support purchase and develop. b) supported by volunteer effort and/or cost neutral income streams.’

The Community Action Plan was instructed and developed by members of Soirbheas, GURCA, and Glen Urquhart Community Council; and made possible by funding from these groups and Local Energy Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland.
